Storvik acquires Heggset Engineering AS – significantly strengthening the group’s engineering capacity
Storvik – Holding AS (Storvik) in Sunndalsøra has entered into an agreement to acquire Heggset Engineering AS in Kristiansund. The transaction will take place with accounting effect from 1 January 2017.
Storvik’s Chairman of the Board, Nils L. Sande, states that the acquisition of Heggset Engineering will significantly strengthen the company in engineering and technical capacity, and that this is a natural development as a result of the growth the company has experienced in recent years, both nationally and internationally.
We believe this is a good, long-term industrial solution for both Storvik and Heggset Engineering Heggset Engineering will consist of a separate company in the Storvik group, and together with other technical resources in Storvik constitute a considerable capacity with over 30 engineers,” Sande says further.
Managing Director of Storvik, Ola Ulvund, says this will strengthen the company in its continued commitment to both aluminium and oil & gas based in Kristiansund. Heggset Engineering has a competent engineering staff and a good reputation in the market. This will complement Storvik’s organization in a good way according to Ulvund.
Both Heggset Engineering and Storvik are currently located in the same premises at Vestbase in Kristiansund, and this environment will now be strengthened through the acquisition. In recent years, Storvik has gained a significant foothold in other process industries such as ferrosilicon and, through the acquisition, will be even better equipped to serve this industry.
In 2015, Storvik had a turnover of approx. 190 MNOK and 85 employees. Heggset Engineering had a turnover of approx. 23 MNOK in 2015 and currently has 13 employees.
