Storvik has so far invested about 40 million NOK in buildings and machinery in Mosjøen and plans similar investments in the years to come. We have entered into an agreement for the purchase of additional area, which is being implemented these days. In addition, we are working with Vefsn municipality to put in place an option agreement for a larger additional area on Baustein for further growth. The board and management of Storvik are very pleased with the result and development of operations in Mosjøen since we re-established Storvik in Mosjøen in 2018. We are optimistic about the future, based on the positive development we experience with our established customers, and we see interesting development opportunities with all the new establishments that are now coming around us at Baustein.
Since the start-up in 2018, our business in Mosjøen has been run as a department in Storvik AS. Bjarte Valåmo, who has been our department manager in Mosjøen, has chosen to seek new opportunities. We are therefore pleased that Veronica Danielsen has taken on the role of acting head of our business in Mosjøen.
We now use the opportunity to separate operations in Mosjøen as a separate limited company and the new name is Storvik Mosjøen AS. Storvik Mosjøen AS has 15 employees, but we have a great need for more skilled workers and are actively working to recruit more. We envisage a significant growth in the number of employees already this year. This especially applies to our investment in industrial mechanic services, where we have employed Stian Lillemo as supervisor. This organization and commitment clarifies our ambition in Mosjøen. We are gearing up for further operations and growth and have a long-term perspective in Vefsn and on Helgeland.
